Where would the Sport be without fans!?
Letters sent to Motogp
To whom it may concern,
I have been watching MotoGP for over twenty years, and I am starting to become less and less interested in the sport. Back in the day there use to be a lot more crashes, power slides in and out of corners, and more people competing at the top. Within the past few years since traction control systems have been installed on these high powered machines the racing to me has become much more boring and it seems that there are only a couple of guys who are even competing for the championship, which makes watching MotoGP kind of a drag. I miss the old days when fans could go to a race or watch it on T.V. and see 6-7 guys competing for the number one position and also getting a chance to see some big crashes. Maybe it is because I am older and grew up on a different style of racing that what is evolving today. I understand that safety is becoming an important issue, but please dont forget your biggest supporters. THE FANS! Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
John Doe

Dear MotoGP,
I want to thank you for making it safer for the riders out there who have to deal with these 250+hp machines. The motorcycles today are so much more powerful than they ever were and have the ability to reach speeds of 220mph. There has been a lot of debate on whether traction control has made the sport boring, some call it cheating, and others just want to see what the riders can do with these powerful machines without traction control. I however feel that traction control is nothing but another part of the bike that has to be tinkered with and diagnosed in order to get the most out of what the manufacturers are developing today. Having the traction control system does not mean that I could just hop on a MotoGP bike and think that i will be able to ride half as good as most of these racers. You must have all of your settings on the bike correct from the tyres, to the suspension, the frame, and many other things that go into to having a fast motorcycle. Traction control to me is nothing more than a safety device so less injuries occur, and also so the manufacturers do not have to keep shelling out the money every time i highside occurs. Traction control is something that needs to stay, because it provides safety for the riders and also allows us to see the riders ride those motorcycles on the absolute limit and edge of their tyres as fast and smooth as possible.
Sincerely, Jane Smith
